About SEEC
The SEEC is responsible for enhancing the efficiency of energy production and consumption in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. SEEC unifies the efforts of both governmental and non-governmental entities in this field to preserve natural energy resources. It focuses on establishing necessary regulations to reduce high energy consumption and optimize its use, ensuring sustainable growth and availability for all without affecting societal welfare

2010
- • The Cabinet issued a decision to establish the "SEEC in Dhul Qadah 1431H (October 2010G)
2012
- • SEEC began preparing the "Saudi Energy Efficiency Program" in Rajab 1433H (May 2012G), targeting the highest energy-consuming sectors: industry, buildings, and land transportation
2013
- • Fully launched energy efficiency initiatives and raised awareness about the importance of energy conservation and efficiency in cooperation with more than 30 governmental and semi-governmental entities
- • Worked on over 100 initiatives at various stages (feasibility study, design, implementation)
2018
- • SEEC's mandate expanded to include the use of energy in electricity production and water desalination, including electricity transmission and distribution, as well as feedstock use in the industrial sector
2020
- • Developed a strategic roadmap, defining SEEC’s vision, mission, and strategic goals, along with initiatives to achieve these goals and enablers to ensure success and enhance the Kingdom’s position in energy efficiency
2030
- • By 2030, energy efficiency efforts are expected to reduce energy consumption by about one million barrels of oil equivalent and 97 million tons of CO₂ equivalent annually
